“…Tanya. Her treatment was excellent”

This review is for travelers like me, for whom dropping $180 on a spa day is not necessarily a financial given, but who place a high value on retreat and self-care. So if you're like me, you don't just want to know that the services are good (they're excellent), you also want to know that it's worth $180. I felt that it was worth it. Here's why. I place as much value on the ability to unwind before & after the treatment as the quality of the treatment itself. As indicated by its name, Ohm is a spa AND lounge. There's a spacious (by Manhattan standards) lounge area divided into two rooms, connected by a door way... with couches, ottomans, poufs, and pillows. There are snacks and drink to enjoy (e.g. rice crackers, chocolate, fruit, infused water, and tea). It's dimly lit, and a humidifier lets out steam every so often. I was able to mindfully take in the detail before the treatment, and was welcomed to stay in the lounge afterwards as long as I wanted. I felt at ease to put my legs up on a couch and read/journal for a while. I was there for a couple hours, and there were only 3-4 people in the lounge area at a time. Occasionally, a pair of guests would chat on another couch. Every guest was in bath robes and slippers (provided). I received an hour massage from Tanya. Her treatment was excellent (... I receive massages monthly and have tried numerous practices). I was very relaxed by the use of lavender-scented eye and neck weights. The room was again dimly lit and the treatment bed was heated. You could hear NYC traffic a little bit downstairs, but it was fine. A couple other notes: The rate for a one-hour massage was $150 when I went, so don't forget to budget approx. $30 tip. The changing room is small. They give you your own locker and lock combination. Everything seemed sanitary in the treatment room and the bathroom. The front desk was courteous (read: not condescending), and I think the owner herself was helping to man the front desk on my way out. 5-Star Review from plusGRAY on TripAdvisor
